Wikipedia defines Six Sigma as: "Six Sigma is a set of techniques and tools for process improvement. It was introduced by American engineer Bill Smith while working at Motorola in 1986. A six sigma process is one in which 99.99966% of all opportunities to produce some feature of a part are statistically expected to be free of defects"
Although this is true, Six Sigma is far more than the name and the definition. Six Sigma has tools that will lend themselves to all industries, product and corporate problems where quality issues, waste and inefficiencies are present. Six Sigma is a disciplined, data-driven approach and methodology for eliminating defects in your products or processes. Every product or service has a process, not all processes are perfect. Six Sigma tools and approaches will help drive to that 99.99966% rate of success!
Six Sigma trained and certified individuals are in high demand and will always get selected over a non Six Sigma certified individual.
LETS BE REAL ITS ALL ABOUT THE DOLLARS!
Lean Six Sigma can't guarantee you a high paying role or career like the job above, but it will make you competitive, marketable and increase your earning potential in the work place. A Lean Six Sigma certification indicates you can solve process defects, eliminate sources of waste and operate efficiently by staying on task and continuous improving the process, which are skills employers find valuable.
Getting Six Sigma certified can and will help you ask for a higher salary in your current role, or be a great asset when seeking new employment opportunities, as it demonstrates you're able to handle more responsibility and work efficiently. Salary ranges depend on several factors, region, industry, education, background, years of experience, and your Lean Six Sigma certification level, but you are sure to command attention and garner higher wages with this training and Six Sigma work experience to back it up.
Don't take my word for it, search your favorite job board site and look for Lean Six Sigma. You will find many high paying opportunities that all ask for some level of Lean Six Sigma experience, training and or a certification.
Lean Six Sigma skills can be useful in many industries, so being able to demonstrate you have them can help you qualify for a variety of roles, from Program managers, Analyst, IT Managers, Plant Managers, and Quality Managers just to name a few. The list of titles runs long and so does the opportunities. But you can't be considered if you don't have the training and the (advanced) certification.
